Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Who We Are
Urban Tiger, Inc. is a Delaware corporation and the operator of urbit.house. We are the data controller for personal information processed directly by the Services. For questions about this Policy, contact us at legal@urbantiger.xyz.
2. Information We Collect
In order to use urbit.house, it is not required to provide an email, phone number, or any other kind of verification. It is intended that urbit.house operates as a pseudonymous social experience. In order to achieve this, urbit.house utilizes the Ethereum blockchain to implement Urbit ID, Lodge membership records, and payments. Blockchain data is public by design and permanent. We have no ability to alter or delete it. While your Urbit ID is pseudonymous, on-chain records are visible to anyone and may be connected with external data by third parties outside our control.
During the current testing phase, Urbit ships used by the Services are hosted on infrastructure operated by Urban Tiger, Inc. While we do not routinely access the content stored on individual ships, our hosting arrangement means that such access is technically possible. We are actively developing infrastructure designed to eliminate this access. This Policy will be updated to reflect those changes when deployed.
Any communications sent to Urban Tiger, Inc. (for example support requests) may be recorded.
2.1 Metadata
Notification metadata may be recorded by our services. We may collect anonymised performance data. We do not use cookies, third-party analytics, or any connection metadata.
2.2 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not require or request the following information:
- Your real name, government-issued identification, or physical address.
- Payment card numbers, bank account details, or other financial credentials.
KYC information collected by third-party integrations is not available to or processed by Urban Tiger, Inc.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
- To respond to your support requests and communications.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. Therefore, we do not offer an opt-out. We may share your information with third-party service providers as detailed under Section 5.
We may share information with law enforcement authorities where we are required to do so by law.
We do not link your Urbit ID to your real-world identity.
5. Third-Party Services
The Services may integrate with or link to third-party services including payment providers and other Ethereum-compatible wallets. Your use of those services is governed by those services' own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the data practices of any third party.
5.1 Third-Party Payment Providers
Urbit.house integrates third-party payment providers in order to enable the purchase of digital assets using traditional payment methods such as a credit card or bank transfer ("on-ramp service"). These third-parties are not involved in Lodge creation transactions, peer-to-peer payments between Urbit IDs, or any other on-chain activity on the platform. If you choose to use on-ramp services, you enter into a direct agreement with the relevant third-party which is governed by their own terms.
As of the date of this Policy, the third-party payment provider integrated with the Services is MoonPay (MP Technology Services Limited and its affiliates). MoonPay's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are available at moonpay.com/legal. The on-ramp service may be accessed through an embedded interface within the Services or by redirect to the third-party provider's own platform. In either case, you are interacting directly with the third-party provider, and Urban Tiger, Inc. is not a party to that transaction.
Urban Tiger, Inc. is not a party to that agreement and has no control over any third party's data practices, fees, availability, or compliance decisions. If you choose to use on-ramp services, your Urbit ID and its associated ethereum address will be shared with the third-party payment provider.
Third-parties may be legally required to verify the identity of users before processing fiat-to-crypto conversions. This process may require you to provide personal information including your full name, date of birth, government-issued identification, residential address, and in some cases proof of source of funds. This information is collected, stored, and processed by the third-party alone. Urban Tiger, Inc. does not see your real name, government ID, payment card details, bank account information, or any other data you submit to any third-party. Your real-world identity is not shared with Urban Tiger, Inc. or with any other Lodge member as a result of using a third-party payment provider.
Using a third-party payment provider is not a requirement of the platform. Users who already hold the required tokens in a compatible wallet may interact with urbit.house entirely without engaging a third-party payment provider or undergoing any identity verification process on our platform.
Fiat-to-crypto conversions processed through third-party payment providers are irreversible once confirmed. Urban Tiger, Inc. has no ability to reverse or modify any such transaction. Disputes relating to payments on third-party payment providers must be directed to the relevant third-party directly.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. On-chain data is permanently recorded on the Ethereum blockchain and is outside our control. IP addresses and connection metadata are retained only temporarily and purged on a rolling basis. Third-party payment providers may retain KYC and transaction records in accordance with their own retention obligations under applicable financial regulation.
7. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, access controls, and security monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. We will notify affected users and relevant regulators of any breach within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; withdraw your consent to the processing of your information; request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention obligations); restrict or object to certain processing; and receive a portable copy of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at data@urbantiger.xyz.
9. EEA, UK, and Swiss Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our lawful bases for processing your personal information are: performance of a contract (providing the Services to you); your consent; compliance with legal obligations; and our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, platform improvement). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland please note that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where Urban Tiger, Inc. is based. When we transfer personal information internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable data protection law, including European Commission adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses, to ensure your information receives an equivalent level of protection. For further information on the safeguards we use, contact us at data@urbantiger.xyz.
10. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used; to request deletion; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising); and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at data@urbantiger.xyz.
11. Children
The Services are not directed at or intended for use by persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will promptly delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a prominent notice on the Services. The date at the top of this Policy reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
